Meet Gaia
Gaia, originally from Portland, Oregon, began sewing at a young age, making clothes and unique costumes. After studying sewing and fashion design, she moved to New York City at 18 to study fashion design at Pratt Institute. In 2001, she transferred to Central Saint Martins in London to complete her degree in Performance Design for Theatre, focusing on large and unusual stage objects. After freelancing in costumes, she found a part-time role making inflatables at a reputable London design company, which quickly evolved into a full-time position, honing her skills and enhancing the quality of inflatables.

Meet Mahani
Mahani was born in London to Malaysian parents and grew up in Kuala Lumpur. Inspired by her architect mother, who crafted My Little Pony-themed duvets, soft toys and bags, Mahani began creating her own items at a young age. She taught herself to sew at 16, transitioning from paper to fabric. After high school, Mahani pursued a degree in Product Design in England, where she completed a placement at Koziol Ideas for Friends, designing quirky homeware. Two years post-graduation, she secured an internship at a London design studio specialising in inflatables, working on projects ranging from small products to large-scale structures for high-profile clients like Puma and Coca Cola.

All About Us
Product Designer Mahani Baharum and Set Designer/Maker Gaia Hannan met in 2008 at a London design studio. In February 2012, they launched their own brand, creating high-quality products and Studio Soüfflé was born!
